Angie Craig, a U.S. Congress member representing Minnesota’s 2nd District since 2019, has recently shared her perspectives on significant legislative issues via social media. Her statements focus on the accountability of elected officials, national fiscal policy, and public health concerns.

On June 4, 2025, Craig emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity among elected officials. She stated, “We need to ensure our elected officials are serving the American people while in office — not the interests of large corporations.” To address this issue, she announced her initiative to reintroduce the Restoring Integrity in Democracy Resolution aimed at banning Members of Congress from serving on for-profit boards.

The following day, June 5, 2025, Craig criticized the current administration’s fiscal policies. She expressed her discontent by stating that although there were promises made to reduce national debt and improve affordability for Americans, “Instead, they’re adding $2.4 trillion to the national deficit to give tax breaks to billionaires. No one voted for that.”

In another post on June 5, 2025, Craig addressed the opioid crisis affecting many families in Minnesota and across the country. She reported legislative progress by announcing that her bill focused on expanding overdose prevention resources had passed in the House. She underscored its importance by noting that “Too many lives have been lost to a drug overdose – and too many MN families know the pain of losing a loved one.”

Angie Craig was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994. Now residing in Prior Lake at age 51, she continues her efforts as an active legislator committed to addressing critical issues facing Americans today.
