U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on her social media account on September 5 and 6, 2025, addressing issues ranging from the national economy to gun reform and Alzheimer’s research.

On September 5, Craig questioned the current state of the economy under President Trump’s administration. She wrote, “Is this the so-called ‘golden age’ President Trump promised? My Republican colleagues continue to capitulate while this admin trashes our economy. They own this decline.” The post reflects ongoing partisan debate regarding economic policy and performance during the Trump presidency.

Later that day, Craig addressed gun violence and legislative inaction. In her post dated September 5 at 20:32 UTC, she stated, “Thoughts and prayers are not enough – my colleagues across the aisle must be willing to enact common-sense gun reform. I’m urging @SpeakerJohnson to take action and protect America’s children, teachers and families from preventable gun violence.”

On September 6, Craig emphasized the significance of federal support for medical research. She posted, “NIH funding is critical to continuing Alzheimer’s research. Lisa from Inver Grove Heights recently wrote in to share her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s and the importance of funding research to end this heartbreaking disease. It’s because of constituents like Lisa that I” This message highlights constituent advocacy for continued investment in health research.

Angie Craig has represented Minnesota’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Jason Lewis in 2019. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and now residing in Prior Lake, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994.
