U.S. Congresswoman Angie Craig, who represents Minnesota’s 2nd district, used her Twitter account this week to address issues ranging from immigration and healthcare to public safety in her community.
On May 7, Craig posted about the case of Andrea, an individual with a medical condition under the care of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She wrote: “The same week that ICE re-confirmed that Andrea has an ovarian cyst, they denied her petition for humanitarian parole that would allow her to be treated. ICE’s treatment of Andrea has been unacceptable from the start, but this is just cruel.”
The following day, May 8, Craig highlighted ongoing concerns about health insurance coverage among Minnesotans. She stated: “I hear the same story over and over again from Minnesotans: folks who pay thousands of dollars for health insurance each year facing a mountain of medical debt. Why? Because their insurance isn’t covering their care. Today I hosted a panel discussion with Rep. Bierman, health”
Later on May 8, Craig celebrated local infrastructure developments in Woodbury: “It’s a great day to be in Woodbury! Today we broke ground on the brand-new Woodbury Public Safety facility. This project will help our law enforcement officers keep folks in CD2 safe. And it was an honor to celebrate its groundbreaking with the folks who helped make this new”
Craig has served as Minnesota’s 2nd District representative since 2019 after succeeding Jason Lewis (source). Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, she earned her BA from the University of Memphis in 1994.
