U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district in Congress, recently used her social media platform to address several pressing issues concerning her constituents and national affairs.
On April 10, 2026, Craig highlighted the case of a constituent needing urgent medical care while in ICE detention. She wrote, “My constituent Andrea has been in need of urgent medical care while in ICE detention for months. Folks all around the world — including global organizations like @amnesty — are advocating for Andrea to get the care she needs. We won’t stop fighting until she gets it.”
The following day, on April 11, 2026, Craig commented on recent economic developments and their impact on local families. She stated, “Inflation tripled last month as a direct consequence of Trump’s war in Iran. And while Minnesota families are deciding whether to put gas in the tank or food on the table, this admin is doing nothing to make life affordable again. It doesn’t have to be like this.”
On April 12, 2026, Craig shared details about a meeting with a state military leader: “This week, I met with Minnesota National Guard Major General Shawn Manke. We had an important discussion about how we can work together to support the brave men and women who keep our state safe.”
Craig has represented Minnesota’s 2nd District since replacing Jason Lewis in Congress in 2019. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994.
