Angie Craig, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2019, addressed several policy concerns in a series of posts on her official Twitter account between August 17 and August 18, 2025.

On August 17, Craig discussed her recent engagement with health advocates: “I met with Multiple Sclerosis advocates this week to discuss how we can continue to fight for research funding and resources. As this Admin slashes NIH funding, we’ve got to continue working to find a cure for this devastating disease.”

Later that day, she commented on proposed changes to food assistance programs: “The Republican budget purported to save money by cutting food assistance programs. In reality, it shifts the costs to the states and forces counties to raise property taxes. Most folks don’t realize it yet: but they will when their property taxes go up.”

On August 18, Craig criticized former President Donald Trump’s economic policies: “President Trump’s reckless fiscal policies have slowed down our economy, caused our unemployment rate to rise and taken nearly 5,000 jobs away from hardworking Minnesotans – just to line the pockets of the wealthiest few. He’s shown us once again that his agenda is”

Craig has served in Congress since replacing Jason Lewis in 2019. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently resides in Prior Lake. Craig graduated from the University of Memphis in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
