Angie Craig, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2019, addressed several issues in a series of posts on May 1, 2026. Her statements focused on food assistance policy, labor rights, and hunger advocacy.
On May 1, Craig released a statement regarding her recent vote on the rotisserie chicken SNAP eligibility amendment to the farm bill. She wrote: “My statement on my vote on yesterday’s rotisserie chicken SNAP eligibility amendment to the farm bill. I urge you to call your senators and ask them to include the Hot Foods Act in the Senate version of the farm bill. Minnesotans deserve access to a variety of hot foods,” posted at 16:20 UTC.
Later that day, she marked International Workers Day by expressing support for organized labor. At 18:48 UTC, Craig stated: “On International Workers Day, we celebrate the hard-won achievements of the labor movement and stand in solidarity with Minnesota’s workers. Today and every day, I’m proud to support unions in the fight for better wages, better benefits and safer working conditions.”
In another post at 20:02 UTC, Craig thanked hunger advocates who met with her in Washington D.C., highlighting ongoing concerns about nutrition funding cuts. She said: “Thank you to hunger advocates including Second Harvest Heartland for meeting with me this week in DC! As this administration continues to cut vital nutrition funding, we’re working to ensure no Minnesotan goes hungry.”
Craig has served as Minnesota’s representative since defeating Jason Lewis in 2019. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, she holds a BA from the University of Memphis (1994).
