U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district in Congress, used her social media platform this week to address several issues, including federal grant funding for violence prevention, youth mental health, and a recent court ruling related to public education.

On August 14, 2025, Craig posted about efforts by Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation to restore federal support for state anti-violence programs. She wrote, “This week, I joined my fellow Democrats in MN’s Congressional Delegation to demand that the Admin reinstate the MN Department of Public Safety’s Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention grant. With political violence on the rise in our communities, the Admin should be working https://t.co/1gV2jE7dcX”.

The following day, August 15, Craig highlighted youth engagement on mental health issues during a meeting with Miss Minnesota Teen. She stated, “It was great to welcome Lily Geyer, Miss Minnesota Teen, to my Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Advisory Council meeting today. Substance abuse and mental health crises are too often overlooked among Minnesota’s youth – but working with young people, like Lily, allows us https://t.co/tCSsKXPXr4”.

Later on August 15, Craig commented on a legal decision regarding public education policy. She posted, “President Trump’s attempt to dismantle our public education system and control what our kids learn in school is unacceptable, unconstitutional and downright un-American. Today’s ruling is a win for our students, teachers and schools across America. https://t.co/2qTeuH7mOB”.

Craig has represented Minnesota’s 2nd District since 2019 after succeeding Jason Lewis. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently resides in Prior Lake. Craig earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Memphis in 1994.
