Angie Craig, currently serving as a member of the U.S. Congress for Minnesota’s 2nd District, has been vocal on several key policy issues in recent days. Craig, who began her tenure in Congress in 2019, is championing initiatives focused on expanding internet access, advocating for special education programs, and promoting the sale of biofuels.

On April 22, Craig tweeted about the necessity for every Minnesotan to have access to reliable high-speed internet. She stated, “In this day and age, every Minnesotan needs access to reliable high-speed internet. I’ve got a bill to cut red tape and help expand internet access on federal lands. It’s got support from both sides of the aisle and it’s time to get it passed.”

The following day, April 23, Craig expressed her support for maintaining special education oversight within the Department of Education. In her tweet, she shared, “As the mother of a son who benefited from special ed programs, I know how important these programs are to families. Special ed oversight belongs under the Dept. of Ed, not HHS – which is led by a man who just used his position to disparage people on the autism spectrum.”

Later that same day, Craig urged the current Administration to permit the widespread sale of E15 biofuel for the summer. She argued that “extending the availability of homegrown biofuels can bolster our nation’s energy resilience and lower costs for Minnesotans at the gas pump. It just makes sense.”

Angie Craig was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972, has lived in Prior Lake, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994. She replaced former U.S. Congress member Jason Lewis in 2019.
