Angie Craig, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 2nd District, has recently addressed several issues impacting her constituents through a series of posts on social media. Craig, who has represented the district since 2019 and resides in Prior Lake, focused her comments on disability rights, the fentanyl crisis, and recent changes to SNAP funding.
On July 11, 2025, Craig expressed concern regarding potential reductions to organizations supporting individuals with disabilities. She stated, “This is appalling. Gutting organizations like the Institute on Community Integration would make Minnesota a less inclusive, less diverse and less safe place for people living with disabilities.”
Later that day, Craig addressed the ongoing fentanyl crisis. In her post dated July 11, 2025, she emphasized a multi-faceted approach: “We’ve got to come at the fentanyl crisis from all sides – that means working with law enforcement, community leaders and the medical community to get overdose prevention tools into the hands of those who need them. I’m fighting in Congress to do just that.”
On July 12, 2025, Craig commented on recent Republican-led changes to SNAP funding in Minnesota. She wrote: “Because of Republican cuts to SNAP – counties across Minnesota will be burdened with higher property taxes, just to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Instead of lowering costs (like they promised), they’re making Minnesotans hungrier and poorer.”
Craig was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and graduated from the University of Memphis in 1994 with a BA degree.
