Angie Craig, a U.S. Congress member representing Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2019, has voiced her opposition to a proposed budget bill by the Republican Party through a series of tweets. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, Craig has been an active participant in legislative discussions.

On July 2, 2025, Craig called for bipartisan support against the bill. She stated that “We just need four patriots in the Republican Party to tank this terrible bill.” She urged these individuals to join House Democrats in opposing what she described as “the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the ultra-wealthy in our nation’s history.”

Later that day, she criticized the proposed legislation further by describing it as “an absolute betrayal of the middle class and a heartless attack on America’s most vulnerable.” She expressed disbelief at how any American could support such a measure.

The following day, on July 3, Craig remarked on the actions taken by House Republicans regarding this bill. She asserted that “Today, House Republicans turned their back on the American people.” and emphasized her commitment to ensuring accountability for these decisions.

Angie Craig graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994 and has been serving her constituents since replacing Jason Lewis.
