Angie Craig, a U.S. Congress member representing Minnesota’s 2nd district, shared her views via social media engagement on recent legislative and agricultural issues. Craig, who has held her congressional position since replacing Jason Lewis in 2019, addressed matters ranging from LGBTQ+ rights to the challenges facing family farmers.

On April 29, 2025, Craig stated, “In America, we’re all entitled to the same protections under the law, yet members of the LGBTQ+ community are still fighting for their rights every single day.” She expressed pride in joining her Equality Caucus Co-Chairs in the reintroduction of the Equality Act, aiming to protect LGBTQ+ Americans.

Later the same day, she highlighted the struggles faced by family farmers due to federal policies. Craig tweeted on April 29, 2025, “Between the Administration’s trade war and federal funding freeze, family farmers in MN-02 are hurting.” She specifically mentioned Andy, a farmer from Northfield, pointing out that government actions impact farm programs and small businesses adversely.

Continuing her focus on agriculture, Craig participated in a panel discussion with Ag Committee leaders as noted in a tweet on April 30, 2025. She remarked, “It was great to join my fellow Ag Committee leaders on today’s @TexasFarmBureau panel to discuss a strong, bipartisan farm bill that gets our farmers and producers the resources they need to keep feeding the world.” This engagement underscores her advocacy for supportive agricultural legislation.

Born in West Helena, Arkansas, in 1972, Angie Craig has been active in various political arenas, motivated by her educational experiences from the University of Memphis, where she graduated in 1994.
