Angie Craig, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2019 after replacing Jason Lewis, recently shared her views on social media. Born in 1972 in West Helena, Arkansas, and now residing in Prior Lake, Craig graduated from the University of Memphis in 1994.

On April 22, 2025, Angie Craig expressed strong criticism over employment practices concerning certain individuals in positions affecting military safety. She remarked, “He never should’ve been hired in the first place, but his gross negligence in putting our service members at risk is more than enough to be fired for.”

In a different message on the same day, Craig celebrated Earth Day, emphasizing her commitment to preserving Minnesota’s public lands. She stated, “Happy Earth Day, Minnesota! I’ll always work to protect our public lands so that generations of Minnesotans can enjoy the natural landscapes we know and love.” This message underscores her focus on environmental conservation for future generations.

Later, on that day, Craig turned her attention to the implications of budget cuts proposed by the administration on federal health and human services programs. She highlighted the potential negative effects on Head Start, a developmental program critical for underprivileged children, noting, “The Admin’s draft budget slashes funding for critical HHS programs, like Head Start – a developmental program that sets up half a million of our country’s neediest kids for success in school. The impacts of cuts like this would be generational.” This reflects her advocacy for programs aiding children’s education and development.
