Gregory Buck, an advocate for Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions, sent a letter to U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) urging her to support the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act as it advances in Congress after passing the House.

“I am writing to encourage your vote(s) to advance the SAVE America Act in the Senate,” Buck said in his letter. “This is legislation supported by 80% – 85% of Americans, including large majorities in Minnesota. I can assure you Minnesotans are losing patience with the antics of the Democrat party in Congress. I encourage you to do the right thing in representing your people in Minnesota and support the bill.”

Buck’s statement accompanied his formal letter as part of outreach efforts by Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions focused on voter eligibility verification and voter roll accuracy. The issue comes amid broader debate over election procedures ahead of upcoming elections.

If passed, the SAVE America Act would require individuals registering to vote in federal elections to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a passport, REAL ID-compliant identification, or a certified birth certificate with photo identification, and would establish federal standards for verifying eligibility before voter registration is processed.

A February 2026 Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that 71% of registered voters support the SAVE America Act. Pew Research Center data from August 2025 showed 83% support requiring photo identification to vote, while Gallup polling from October 2024 found 83% support proof of citizenship for first-time voter registration and 84% support photo identification at the polls.

Minnesota has seen ongoing advocacy around election procedures, with groups focused on eligibility verification and compliance with federal standards. Organizations including Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions have participated in public events and submitted complaints to state authorities regarding voter roll maintenance.

Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions is a nonpartisan organization focused on election integrity, research, voter education, and advocacy throughout Minnesota. The organization formed in February 2021 by a group of citizens concerned with the propriety of the Minnesota Election System. It is comprised of volunteers and experts committed to safeguarding and improving the election process through citizen participation as voters, election judges, and poll challengers.
