South St. Paul home prices rise in the first quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2018 in South St. Paul rose by $21,500 while total sales decreased by 12.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2018, there were 68 homes sold, with a median sale price of $198,450 - a 12.2% increase over the $176,950 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 78 homes sold in South St. Paul in the first quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in South St. Paul for the most recent year with available data, 2014, was $1,886, approximately 1% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2018.
