City of Farmington issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.
The Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce has added Michael Berndt, Kyle Chank, Carol Osnes, Justin Hellickson, and Kim Gibson to their Board of Directors effective January 2020.
“All five of our new Board Memebers have been heavily involved with the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce and have been influential in achieving the vision and goals of the DCR Chamber of Commerce,” Said Maureen Scallen Failor, President of the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “ Each individual brings their own unique perspective and dynamic to the Board of Directors but each share a passion of developing, supporting, and advocating for the business community across Dakota County.”
Michael Berndt is the Interm President of Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College. Earlier, he served four years as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Century College. In that role, he built partnerships with employers, high schools, and non-profit organizations. At Normandale Community College, Michael served eight-years as a faculty member in English and Vice President of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. In that role, Michael also served as a Baldrige reviewer for the Minnesota Quality Award, Chair of the Advisory Board for Community Education in Eden Prairie, and a member of the Government Relations Committee for the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
Kyle Chank is Vice President of Operations for MV Eagan Ventures. His role is primarily focused on managing the 200+ acre campus of Viking Lakes in Eagan. As General Manager, he is responsible for building the foundation, culture, programming and all logistical elements to bring the live, work, play campus to life. Kyle has previous management experience in the NFL, MLB, and NCAA and most recently served as the Vice President of Operations and Logistics for the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee; his fourth Super Bowl he has worked on.
Carol Osnes is the Chief Operations Officer at Yankee Eye Clinic and Rosemount Eye Clinic. Carol also has experience working in fashion, banking, and commercial & residential construction, including international design projects. In addition, she was an executive assistant to three presidents of large companies. All of her experience has helped her to look at the big picture, to see the best in people and not to sweat the small things in life. Carol is heavily involved in her community working with the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce, her church, and as the former president of M.O.P.S International and Eagan Women of Today.
Justin Hellickson is the Branch Manager of Think Mutual Bank – Eagan. He has worked for Think Mutual Bank for the past 11 years, holding positions such as Collector, Consumer Banker, Business Banker and, most recently, Branch Manager of the Eagan Branch since 2016. In his role as branch manager, Justin has made it a priority to volunteer and support local businesses and non-profit organizations in Dakota County. He strives to make a positive impact in his community and is proud of his team for winning the “2018 Small Business of the Year” award through the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Kim Gibson is the Assistant Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities Team at Prime Therapeutics LLC. Kim leads workplace planning and strategy, design and construction management, facilities mail services and security teams. She has been with Prime Therapeutics LLC fo the past eight years and has held similar roles at other corporations located in the Twin Cities metro area over her twenty-year career. Kim specializes in leading the implementation of progressive work environments that enhance the employee experience while driving operational efficiency.
