CITY OF FARMINGTON: Kids 'n Kinship Mentorship Program

Kids

City of Farmington issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.

Kids ‘n Kinship is a non-profit mentoring organization serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Rosemount and Lakeville.

For 48 years we have been providing long-term friendships to children ages 5-16 who are in need of a positive adult role model. Mentors can be individual, couples or families.

To accommodate a variety of schedules and interest we offer two different mentoring programs:

Community-based mentoring- volunteers spend one to four hours a week with their mentee doing activities such as baking cookies, going fishing, or attending one of our quarterly events.

School-based mentoring program- volunteers spend a half hour per week with their mentee at school during the school year assisting with school work and modeling the importance of doing well in school.

Currently we offer school-based mentoring at Glacier Hills, Thomas Lake, Parkview and Westview Elementary Schools in Eagan, Westview Elementary in Apple Valley and Parkview Elementary in Rosemount.

If you would like more information contact, Moriah Peterson at volunteer@kidsnkinship.org or Check Out our Facebook page.
