Empire home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Empire rose by $92,000 while total sales remained unchanged with 13 homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 13 homes sold, with a median sale price of $358,000 - a 34.6% increase over the $266,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 13 homes sold in Empire in the third quarter of 2017, as well.

The median sales tax in Empire for 2018 was $3,191. In 2014, the median sales tax was $2,424. This marks an increase of 31.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 0.9%.
