Empire home prices fall in December 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in December 2018 in Empire fell by $98,500 while total sales increased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In December 2018, there were four homes sold, with a median sale price of $241,500 - a 29% decrease over the $340,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were three homes sold in Empire in December 2017.

The median sales tax in Empire for 2018 was $3,191. In 2014, the median sales tax was $2,424. This marks an increase of 31.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
