City of Burnsville issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Don’t be haunted by what to do with your old pumpkin after Halloween. Bring Mr. Jack-O-Lantern to this FREE, two day pumpkin composting event. All pumpkins will be transported to a special organics recycling facility. Candle wax must be removed and painted pumpkins will not be accepted. Presented by Dakota Valley Recycling. Open to residents of Burnsville, Eagan, Apple Valley and Lakeville.
Staff will not be on site. Residents can just swing by the maintenance facility any time on Saturday or Sunday to drop off their pumpkins.
