Democratic candidate Kaela Berg will assume office on Jan 5, 2021 after defeating Republican Roz Peterson, who was vying for House District 56B seat..
Berg posted on Facebook, thanking supporters and promising to deliver good service.
"Thank you district 56B! I am honored to be voted in to serve as your next MN State House Representative," she wrote. "I know this marks the beginning of a long road of incredibly important work ahead. 2020 brought unforeseen challenges impacting our community members and businesses, and it calls for bold and thoughtful leadership. I am humbled by the community’s support and belief in me to do exactly that. I will work tirelessly to ensure all the voices in our vibrant district are heard and represented equally. Whether you’re a parent, a student, working, or retired, you deserve to thrive, not just survive.
“This campaign has been a journey, and with the pandemic, one quite different than I originally imagined. My team of volunteers and supporters were critical in helping reach voters and spread our message that we need a Minnesota that works for everyone. Thank you for your time and energy! I look forward to getting to work on behalf of 56B."
