BURNSVILLE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL HOSTING 2022 SR LEGION STATE TOURNAMENT

Baseball Association 191 (BA 191 - Burnsville American Legion Baseball) is hosting the 96th Annual Minnesota State American Legion Baseball Tournament at Alimagnet Fields in Burnsville July 28-31, 2022. Sixteen teams from across the state (including Burnsville) will be competing for the state championship. The state champion and the runner-up advance to the Midwest Regional held in Rapid City, S.D. The winner of the regional tournament advance to the American Legion World Series in North Carolina the second week of August. Burnsville last hosted the tournament in 2008. Burnsville last participated in the World Series in 2013. BA 191 is a volunteer-led not-for-profit organization promoting youth baseball primarily in the Burnsville and Savage area of Independent School District 191. BA 191 sponsors and supports the Burnsville American Legion baseball program. BA 191 has been serving the community since 1992 and worked with the city of Burnsville to develop two of the finest baseball fields in the state.

Over the years BA 191 has raised and wisely invested over $1 million dollars in contributions to the city for baseball fields and other community programs supporting youth activities. More than 1,000 players have participated in the baseball programs supported by BA 191. BA 191 Baseball has been a member of the Burnsville Area Chamber of Commerce for many years. We encourage each and every chamber member, your employees and families to attend the tournament the final weekend of July. We would be grateful if the chamber members would consider sponsoring our tournament to promote your business to the people in attendance and to help cover the costs for the following: fields, umpires, baseballs, housing and hotels for out-of-town players; banquet at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville on Wednesday, July 27; guest speakers, and all other related baseball costs. Sponsorship opportunities include the following: two 7 -foot by 10-foot signs on our outfield fences, advertisement in our state tournament booklet, advertisement on our website, advertisement at our banquet and advertisement at the tourney. Company Overview

BA191 is a Minnesota Corporation organized as 501(C) (3) for IRS purposes. The association has a licensed charitable gambling operation in which revenues are distributed to the success of our program and other area programs. All provided assistance is under the lawful purpose of the State Gambling Board.

Mission

  • We shall provide our 15 –19-year-old athletes the opportunity to experience very competitive levels of baseball.
  • We shall foster a baseball tradition in our community in cooperation with local athletic clubs and schools.
  • We shall partner with other organizations in our community to ensure that our athletes have the best possible chance to learn from team-oriented athletic contests and cultivate lifelong skills.
BA 191’s heartfelt desire is to continue to be a permanent part of the youth development and philanthropic landscape of the region. We want to be viewed as a role model for leadership that our players can emulate. We will actively play a role in developing the next generation of coaches and mentors through the engagement of leaders from community groups as volunteers and by providing the training that will motivate players to stay in the game after their playing days are over. Alimagnet Fields Two state-of-the-art baseball fields located at 1200 Alimagnet Parkway in Burnsville. More than 250 games are played on the fields each year with thousands of players and fans enjoying the great game of baseball on two beautiful lighted ball fields. Teams and organizations using the fields include Burnsville HS baseball, Burnsville summer legion baseball (Cobras and Rattlers), Burnsville Bobcats (men’s amateur baseball), Burnsville senior baseball (over 35 and 50 age groups), Burnsville youth traveling baseball, Burnsville youth in house baseball (BAC), other area high school games, sectional high school games.
