About Living Well Disability Services:
Living Well Disability Services began as Dakota’s Children in 1972. Started by parents, volunteers and community partners, their founders saw a need for longer term care that put people with disabilities, and families that support them, first. They are committed to the communities they hold dear, the people they support, their families, and the employees who do heartwarming but hard work daily. Most of their funding comes from federal and state sources like Medicare and Medicaid; however, costs are rising more quickly than reimbursements rates. And like much of the nation, they are also in the midst of a critical staffing crisis.
Above all they are disability advocates and invite you to come learn about their mission of transforming the lives of individuals impacted by disabilities through the delivery of exceptional services. Living Well has 37 homes in the metro, serves 300 people with disabilities, has 500 staff and over 550 volunteers. Advocacy helps them build awareness, grow staff, and build relationships with neighbors.
