The Dakota County Board of Commissioners is headed to the fair, and you're invited to join them.

The board will meet at the Dakota County Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Entertainment Tent. The fairgrounds are at 4008 220th St., Farmington.

During the meeting, commissioners will:

• Honor the University of Minnesota Extension Services 2022 Farm Family of the Year
• Recognize the Minnesota Farm Bureau Minnesota 2022 Century Farm
• Receive an update from 4-H participants
• Introduce the Dakota County Natural Resources Extension educator
• Receive a Dakota County Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee update and proclaim Public Art Appreciation Month in Dakota County
• Hold a public comment period

“Dakota County has a rich tradition and strong connection to agriculture," Board Chair Kathleen A. Gaylord said. “We're excited to visit the fair, meet with residents, recognize our farmers and 4-H'ers, and celebrate agriculture."
