2022 AM Coffee Break: Manufacturing Month at Showcraft

Date and Time

Wednesday Oct 5, 2022

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM CDT

The Burnsville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Burnsville and ISD191, is pleased to proclaim October as Manufacturing Month. To commemorate this month, the Chamber is hosting an AM Coffee Break at Showcraft on Wednesday, October 5, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. The event will include tours of Showcraft’s newly remodeled showroom, which displays their trade show exhibits, booths and displays.

“The Chamber is excited to shine a spotlight on our local businesses and the careers they provide in modern manufacturing,” says Jennifer Harmening, Burnsville Chamber of Commerce President. “Manufacturing is at the heart of some of the most impactful work done in our community.”

The City recognizes that manufacturing is a dynamic and robust industry, crucial to the health and strength of Minnesota’s diverse economy. Manufacturing jobs in Burnsville account for approximately 24.5% of Dakota County’s total manufacturing employment. In 2021 manufacturing provided Burnsville with 4,609 jobs, which makes it Burnsville’s 3rd largest-employing industry sector.

The ISD191 Pathways Program offers manufacturing courses for students to explore careers in this field. Students have the opportunity to gain college credit, professional certification, and real-world learning, which blazes a trail for local manufacturers and employers.
