Farmington Public School District: MCA and MTAS Math results for 2021-22 school year

Farmington Public School District ranked second in the Dakota County for test participation, with 3,060 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Farmington Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 16.8% over the previous year.

Farmington Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 44% in 2021-22 school year.

Third grade students stood out with 18% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 46% not meeting the expected standards.

Farmington Public School District encompasses schools within Dakota County and has a main office in Farmington.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
