Born in West Helena, Arkansas, in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, Craig has been actively engaging with various community issues and stakeholders.

On February 19, 2025, Craig emphasized the critical issue of illicit fentanyl by stating that it is "an urgent public health and safety issue" requiring a comprehensive community approach. She mentioned her collaboration with local law enforcement and health professionals to safeguard Minnesotans from further harm. "Getting illicit fentanyl off our streets is an urgent public health and safety issue – and it requires a whole-of-community approach."

The following day, on February 20, she expressed appreciation for Beyond the Yellow Ribbon in Rosemount for their work supporting Minnesota veterans and active duty service members.
