Dakota County home prices rose in June 2025 compared to June 2024

In June, the median sale price of a home in Dakota County rose by $31,250 from the same period in the previous year, while total sales decreased by 9.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

There were 334 homes sold in June, with a median sale price of $391,250 — an 8.7% increase over the $360,000 median sale price during the same period of the previous year. In comparison, 370 homes were sold in Dakota County in June 2024.

Based on the latest available data from 2024, the median sales tax in Dakota County was $3,968, which stands at 1% of June's median home sale price.

The U.S. housing market has surged in recent years, with its total value approaching $50 trillion in 2024—nearly five times its value in 2000.

“The value of America’s housing market will likely cross the $50 trillion threshold in the next 12 months as there are not enough homes being listed to push prices down,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao.
