U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district, posted a series of tweets on August 1, 2025, addressing local farmers markets, the shutdown of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and recent job growth figures.
In her first post at 17:29 UTC, Craig marked National Farmers Market Week by encouraging constituents to visit local events. She wrote, "Happy National Farmers Market Week! It’s a great time to check out all the great farmers markets MN-02 has to offer, including the Lakeville Farmers Market tomorrow!"
Later that day at 19:43 UTC, Craig commented on the closure of CPB following funding cuts. She stated, "Today, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced it's shutting down due to funding cuts. This is a direct result of President Trump and House Republicans' attacks on public media. I said it once and I'll say it again: I am not backing down."
At 20:34 UTC, Craig addressed economic concerns after new federal data was released. She posted, "The July jobs report shows the weakest job growth since the beginning of the pandemic.
President Trump promised to bring jobs back to America on day one. Instead, he’s slowing down our economy, crushing American businesses and making it harder for Minnesota families to put food".
Craig has represented Minnesota's 2nd District in Congress since 2019 after replacing Jason Lewis. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake at age 51, she holds a BA from the University of Memphis (1994).
