The following day, he commented on another community gathering: "Fun night at the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation celebration with great people! @lpsfmn", referencing the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation.

On September 8, Duckworth addressed concerns about Minnesota's business climate and its impact on employment in Minneapolis. He wrote: "I’m sure tomorrow’s front page headline will be how 'business friendly' Minnesota is. Nice work sticking it to the man & greedy corporations with your high taxes & government mandates. Reality is these hardworking folks lose their jobs & Minneapolis has another empty building."

Duckworth has previously been vocal about economic policy and its effects on local communities.
