Angie Craig, U.S. Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2019, has publicly criticized recent Republican legislative efforts in a series of social media posts published on September 16 and 17, 2025.
On September 16, Craig posted: "I hear a lot about “family values” from my Republican colleagues – yet they’re cutting health care and raising costs for families – just to fund tax breaks for billionaires.
I’m joining @rosadelauro and @SenGillibrand to reintroduce the only bill in Congress that gives Americans". Later that day, she added her opposition to a GOP proposal: "I’m a hell no on Republican’s partisan government funding bill."
The following day, Craig continued her criticism of federal policies affecting education funding: ".@SecMcMahon is now making it even harder for working families to put their kids through school.
They’re selling folks on the “American Dream” while withholding TRIO grants that make it possible for kids to succeed in seeking a higher education.
Another heartless move by this".
Craig’s statements come amid ongoing debates over government spending bills and educational grant programs such as TRIO, which provide support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds seeking higher education. Her comments reflect longstanding partisan divisions over issues like health care costs, tax policy, and federal support for low-income students.
Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972, Craig graduated from the University of Memphis in 1994 with a BA and currently resides in Prior Lake. She replaced Jason Lewis as the representative for Minnesota’s 2nd district in 2019.
