State Representative Jon Koznick posted a series of tweets on September 16 and 17, 2025, expressing criticism of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and referencing recent events in Minneapolis.

On September 16, Koznick wrote: "This is #Walz MN ‘8 shot at Minneapolis homeless encampment ... via KSTP. Re-elect Walz? No thanks #mmleg https://t.co/BQ8P95RISo". Later that day, he followed up with another post: "And he’s “just getting started?” No Thanks. https://t.co/Yn5RF4btrd".

On September 17, Koznick commented on what appears to be a sporting event or score update: "Now it’s like 31-18 but that’s a #powderpuff estimate according to the scoreboard".

Koznick's posts reference a shooting incident at a Minneapolis homeless encampment and criticize Governor Walz's leadership. The hashtag "#mmleg" refers to the Minnesota Legislature. The mention of "KSTP" indicates the source for information about the shooting; KSTP is a local news outlet in Minnesota. In recent years, public safety and homelessness have been ongoing issues in Minneapolis and across Minnesota, drawing significant attention from state legislators and community leaders.

Tim Walz has served as governor of Minnesota since January 2019 and has faced both support and criticism regarding his administration's handling of crime rates and social issues within the state.
