U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district in Congress, has used her social media platform to criticize Republican actions during the ongoing government shutdown and to express concerns about immigration enforcement policies.

On October 7, 2025, Craig posted: "It’s been a week since Republicans shut down the government, and they’re nowhere to be found. It’s time they return to DC to work with us to fix the health care crisis they created." Later that same day, she addressed immigration issues in another post: "The Trump Admin has repeatedly violated due process, detained and deported legal immigrants and obstructed Congressional oversight of their facilities. I am deeply concerned with a proposal to open an ICE detention center in Appleton, and demand @Sec_Noem provide Minnesotans".

On October 8, 2025, Craig continued her criticism of Republican leadership during the shutdown, stating: "The lie: Mike Johnson says Republicans are 'working around the clock' to end the shutdown. The truth: Republicans have only worked 14 days since July and are using this shutdown as vacation. When will the GOP cut the lies and get back to Washington to do the people’s business?"

Craig has represented Minnesota’s 2nd District in Congress since 2019, succeeding Jason Lewis. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently resides in Prior Lake. Craig earned her BA from the University of Memphis in 1994.
