U.S. Representative Angie Craig, who serves Minnesota’s 2nd district in Congress, posted a series of statements on November 5, 2025, criticizing Republican leadership and the impact of federal policies on her constituents.

In a post published at 17:34 UTC, Craig wrote: "It’s official – Speaker Johnson and Republicans are now responsible for the longest government shutdown in American history. They control the House, the White House and the Senate. If they wanted to open the government, they would."

Later that day at 18:41 UTC, she addressed agricultural concerns in her state: "In Minnesota, soybean farmers are crumbling under the President’s trade war. Rather than putting American family farmers first – President Trump is giving handouts to Argentina – one of our top soybean competitors. What the hell happened to America first?"

At 19:25 UTC, Craig further criticized Republican actions during the ongoing government shutdown: "In the 36 days since Republicans shut down the government, they have done a lot: they’ve illegally denied food assistance to hungry kids, targeted federal workers and stood idly by while health care costs skyrocket for hardworking Americans. You know what they haven’t done? Show"

Angie Craig has represented Minnesota's 2nd District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Jason Lewis. Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972 and currently residing in Prior Lake, she graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994.
