City of Burnsville issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.
What’s the Deal with Buckthorn?
Buckthorn is an invasive non-native plant that takes over woodlands. This workshop will give you the information you need to improve the health of your woods, whether it’s a small patch of trees or several acres.
The City-sponsored virtual workshop will be led by expert land managers from Minnesota Native Landscapes, a company that has managed many large and successful buckthorn and habitat restoration projects around the state.
Workshop topics:
• How to successfully remove buckthorn
• How to bring back native plants
• City programs that assist residents with buckthorn removal
