City of Coates issued the following announcement on Dec. 24.
We’ve been preparing for this milestone since June. Training is underway and our vaccinators will begin giving the COVID-19 vaccine to people working in healthcare settings and people working/living in long-term care facilities, like nursing homes, over the next couple of weeks.
We’ve had many people ask when they can get the vaccine. People in these first waves (healthcare workers and long-term care staff and residents) will be told by their employer, or the facility where they live, if they are able to get the vaccine and how to do so. Eventually, all Minnesotans who want to be vaccinated will be able to, it just won’t be right away for everyone. No one will be required to get the vaccine by the government or public health.
