Live music, food trucks and family-friendly activities will be part of a Thursday, July 14 open house celebrating upgrades at Thompson County Park.
The improvements included a new lakeside plaza and sundeck, an enhanced picnic area, interpretive signs and a new paved lake trail. Children of different abilities can explore a new pollinator-themed accessible playground.
The free event is 4–8 p.m. and includes:
- Live music from Mariachi Jalisco (4–5:30 p.m.) and Ecuador Manta (6–8 p.m.).
- License-free fishing during the event, with fishing equipment and bait provided free of charge.
- Five food trucks.
- Lawn games.
- The Dakota County Library On the Go van.
