The Dakota County Board of Commissioners on July 19 appointed two new members to the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board. Chrissie Carver will represent the public sector/community and Stacy Crakes will represent the public sector/economic development.
Carver is an executive assistant at the Minnesota Council of Churches where she provides direct support to the CEO and serves as the liaison to the board of directors managing various board activities. She has a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Bethel University and an extensive record of community service which currently includes volunteering as an associate pastor at The Potter's House Apostolic Ministry in Burnsville.
Crakes is business development director for the Scott County Community Development Agency. She leads the Economic Development Department and serves as liaison among local government staff, regional, state and federal agencies, and business leaders. She matches business opportunities with community resources and develops strategies that support business development in collaboration with local and regional planning.
Crakes will serve a two-year term. Carver is completing a term that ends June 2023.
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott counties. It is a state leader in developing innovative programs administered through CareerForce locations in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul.
