City is displaying snowplow blades painted by St. Dominic students
The City of Northfield is displaying their fleet of snowplow blades that were painted by St. Dominic art students on October 28 through 30 at the rodeo grounds located at Highway 3 and Bollenbacher Drive.
The students in grades 4 through 8 researched potential art pieces, recreated the pieces in the correct size for the blades, and voted on which pieces would go on the snowplow blades. This year’s theme is “Around the World” in the style of Mid-Century Modern. It took the students about four weeks to apply two coats of paint to nine snowplow blades.
After the public display, the community will see the blades on city snowplows when it snows.

La ciudad exhibe hojas de quitanieves pintadas por estudiantes de la escuela St. Dominic
Del 28 al 30 de octubre en el recinto del rodeo
La ciudad de Northfield está exhibiendo su flota de palas quitanieves que fueron pintadas por estudiantes de arte de St. Dominic del 28 al 30 de octubre en el campo de rodeo ubicado en la autopista Highway 3 y Bollenbacher Drive.
Los alumnos de grados 4º a 8º curso investigaron posibles obres de arte, recrearon las piezas en el tamaño correcto para las palas y votaron qué piezas irían en las palas quitanieves. El tema de este año es “La vuelta al mundo (Around the World)” en el estilo de la modernidad de mediados de siglo. Los alumnos tardaron unas cuatro semanas en aplicar dos capas de pintura a nueve palas quitanieves.
Después de la exposición pública, la comunidad verá las cuchillas en las máquinas quitanieves de la ciudad cuando nieve.
