Angie Craig, a U.S. Congress member representing Minnesota's 2nd district since 2019, recently shared her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Craig, who succeeded Jason Lewis in office, has been vocal about her stance on federal workforce cuts and budget plans affecting the middle class.
On March 20, 2025, Angie Craig criticized Elon Musk and DOGE for their approach to federal workforce reductions. She stated that "Musk and DOGE have made it clear they have no interest in targeted cuts to stop waste, fraud and abuse. Instead, they’ve taken a sledgehammer to the federal workforce – this time, at the expense of our veterans."
In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Craig emphasized the need to support veterans who have served the country. She asserted that "We can’t stand for this. Veterans have fought for us, and it’s time to fight for them."
Later that day, Craig addressed concerns regarding a new report on the Republicans' budget plan. She highlighted that "A new report shows that the Republicans’ budget plan will hit the middle class the hardest while benefitting the richest 5%. Turns out cutting Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax breaks for billionaires will raise costs for everyday Americans."
