Angie Craig, representing Minnesota’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, has raised several pertinent issues in her recent communications via social media. An advocate for Minnesota workers and their rights, Craig has met with various stakeholders to discuss key topics impacting her constituents.
On May 2, 2025, Craig highlighted a meeting with the Machinists Union District Lodge 77, where they discussed supporting Minnesota workers. She emphasized the importance of protecting workers' rights to collectively bargain for higher wages and safer working conditions. Craig stated, "This week, I met with the Machinists Union District Lodge 77 to talk about how we can support Minnesota workers and protect their right to collectively bargain for higher wages and safer working conditions."
Additionally, on the same day, Craig criticized the President's budget proposal, expressing concerns about significant financial cuts. According to Craig, the cuts include "$18 billion dollars in cuts to the NIH, $12 billion in cuts to education and over $700 million in cuts to rural development grants," describing them as potentially devastating to rural communities and public infrastructure. She posted, "This will devastate rural communities, public schools and hardworking Minnesotans."
In another post on May 2, 2025, Craig addressed the issue of frozen funding for important energy projects, which could impact Minnesota farmers and small business owners aiming to reduce operational costs. She joined forces with fellow Minnesota Senators to seek explanations for the halt in funding, stating, "Earlier this year, the Admin froze funding for critical energy projects that help Minnesota farmers and small business owners lower their costs – without any real explanation. I joined @senamyklobuchar and @sentinasmith in demanding answers."
Angie Craig was born in West Helena, Arkansas, in 1972 and attended the University of Memphis, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994. She currently resides in Prior Lake.
