Angie Craig, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota's 2nd district since 2019, recently addressed several significant issues through her social media platform. On May 13, she commemorated fallen first responders from Burnsville and discussed budget reconciliation's implications for Minnesota families. The following day, she expressed opposition to proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

On May 13, Craig paid tribute to Burnsville’s fallen first responders. She stated: "Today, we honor Burnsville’s fallen first responders—Paul Elmstrand, Matthew Ruge and Adam Finseth—who lost their lives last year while working to keep our community safe." She further emphasized that the bravery and sacrifice of all fallen first responders would not be forgotten.

Later that day, Craig sought to clarify budget reconciliation's impact on local families by sharing a resource link with her followers. In her words: "What is budget reconciliation—and what will it mean for Minnesota families? Here’s a quick breakdown:"

On May 14, Craig voiced strong opposition against proposed reductions in SNAP benefits by Republicans. She described these cuts as potentially historic in scale and detrimental to various stakeholders: "The Republican-proposed SNAP cut would be the largest rollback of an anti-hunger program in our nation’s history." According to Craig, such measures could adversely affect families and single mothers while threatening rural grocery stores' viability and farmers' livelihoods.

Born in West Helena, Arkansas in 1972, Angie Craig graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in 1994. She currently resides in Prior Lake.
