City Of Hastings issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.
Tom Bakken, the City’s Building Official, retires today after two decades of service to the City. Tom began his duties with the City in 2000 after a 24-year career as a brick and stone mason. For the past 20 years he has been involved in inspections and code enforcement of hundreds of commercial and residential properties. Tom loves to ski and was presented with a set of signed antique Hart skis today from City co-workers. Thank you, Tom, for your service, dedication and commitment to the City of Hastings.
