Olson Middle School presents “Bye Bye Birdie” March 2-4 in the Olson Middle auditorium, 4551 W. 102nd St.
"Bye Bye Birdie" is a musical comedy about Conrad Birdie, a rock and roll singer about to be inducted into the army. His songwriter and agent, Albert, and Albert’s secretary and some-time girlfriend, Rosie, hatch a plan for a farewell performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, which they hope will help sell Birdie’s new song “One Last Kiss,” and ultimately save Almaelou records from going under. To cap off the performance, Birdie will actually give ‘one last kiss’ to Kim MacAfee, an avid member of the Conrad Birdie fan club from Sweet Apple, Ohio.
The show features more than 90 students as cast and crew under the stage and choreography direction of Lee Gillis, musical direction by Shelley Ohnsorg, technical director Daniel Gauper and artistic director Stephanie Schifsky.
Tickets are $7 and are available at the door with cash or check only.
