City of Apple Valley issued the following announcement on Sept. 14.
Due to issues attempting to line-up critical partners to collect the various waste and recyclables, Clean-up Day 2020 is canceled.
Due to issues attempting to line-up critical partners to collect the various waste and recyclables, Clean-up Day 2020 is canceled. We know that many households have been doing cleaning and are looking forward to an event to dispose of such materials. The City will continue to work with its critical partners and explore the possibility of holding the event in the spring of 2021.
In the meantime, please see the Dakota Valley Recycling Website for information about organizations like the Recycling Zone where various materials can be recycled.
Many garbage haulers will pick-up over-sized items for a fee if you call ahead to arrange the pick-up date.
There are also numerous thrift stores that are currently accepting donations of items that can be reused.
